Abilene, Texas, is making history as the first site for a massive $500 billion artificial intelligence (AI) project announced by President Donald Trump.
This ambitious plan, called Project Stargate, aims to create over 100,000 jobs right away and change the future of technology.
What’s Project Stargate?
On his first day back in office, Trump revealed the project, a partnership between SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle.
It’s being described as the biggest AI infrastructure project ever.
Trump called it a “game-changer” for the U.S., saying, “We need to move fast to stay ahead in technology.”
Why Abilene?
With a population of around 130,000, Abilene’s strong community partnerships and ongoing development efforts made it the perfect starting point.
Larry Ellison, Oracle’s Executive Chairman, explained that the first 10 data centers, each half a million square feet, are already being built. These centers will expand to 20 locations nationwide.
