“Real Estate App Sparks Debate: Should You Care About Your Neighbors’ Politics?”
Imagine moving into a new neighborhood and being able to check your future neighbors’ political views before you even buy the house. Sounds wild, right?
That’s exactly what a new real estate platform claims to do.
According to reports, this start-up uses data like election results, campaign donations, and more to give homebuyers a political breakdown of the area.
The hosts of The View aren’t exactly loving the idea.
Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the discussion, saying, “It’s none of your business!” She added that this kind of tool could lead to more division between people.
Sara Haines agreed. She joked, “Jerks come in every political group. What really matters is figuring out if your neighbor is going to be annoying!”
Republican cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin said that buyers should focus on more important things, like school quality and crime rates.
But Sunny Hostin shared a different perspective. With her multiracial family and LGBTQ+ loved ones, she explained, “I wouldn’t want to live near someone who might make my family feel unsafe. But that’s more about behavior, not political beliefs.”
Ana Navarro added a bit of humor, warning Sunny, “Stay away from Palm Beach for now!”
They also agreed that most neighbor drama has nothing to do with politics. Barking dogs, loud parties, and overgrown lawns are the real culprits.
Goldberg wrapped it up by saying, “In the past, no one ever asked about voting. It wasn’t polite!” For her, the main thing that matters is if her neighbors are kind and if they keep their lawn tidy.
So, what do you think? Would you use a tool like this, or is it taking things too far?
