Judge Keeps Sex Trafficking Case Against Real Estate Brothers Alive

NEW YORK — A federal judge has rejected efforts to dismiss the sex trafficking case against luxury real estate brokers Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander, leaving the indictment largely intact.

Judge Valerie Caproni emphasized that the alleged crimes are not just “men behaving badly.” According to the indictment, the brothers allegedly conspired to lure women and girls to luxury hotels, sometimes internationally, where they were drugged, restrained, and sexually assaulted between 2002 and 2021.

One attempted sex trafficking charge was dismissed because the statute of limitations had expired. The brothers remain held without bail after pleading not guilty in Manhattan federal court.

Defense attorneys argued the case involves consensual sexual activity and claimed some witnesses may not be truthful.

However, Judge Caproni wrote that these arguments do not undermine the gravity of the charges or the evidence supporting the indictment.

The trial is scheduled for early January, though the judge indicated it might be postponed until May.

The Alexander brothers previously sold high-end properties in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, using their wealth and influence, prosecutors allege, to carry out the crimes.
