Celebrity Real Estate Fails: Famous Homes Nobody Wanted to Buy

It’s cool to own a celebrity home, right? Well, not always!

Some famous folks found out the hard way that even their star power couldn’t sell a house that’s too expensive or just not right for buyers.

Let’s take a look at the celebrity homes that sat on the market this year.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Huge Beverly Hills Mansion

Ben and J.Lo’s marriage might be over, and now they can’t sell their giant house either!

This 46,000-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a sports complex, and a 12-car garage was listed for $68 million in July.

That’s $8 million more than they paid for it just last year. Even though it’s big and fancy, no one has bought it yet.

Alec Baldwin’s Hamptons Farmhouse

Alec Baldwin has been trying to sell his seven-bedroom home in Amagansett since 2022.

It was originally listed for $29 million but got price cuts over and over, dropping to $18.9 million in early 2024.

Brokers said it was still too expensive, especially since it’s not near the water and feels outdated.

The house was taken off the market in July.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s Beverly Hills Estate

Kylie and Travis split in 2022, and they’ve been trying to sell their seven-bedroom home ever since.

The house started at $21.9 million, but no one wanted it, even after the price was dropped to $15.9 million.

They bought it for $13.5 million back in 2018, and some experts say that’s already too much. The house is now off the market for now.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Overpriced Mansion

Diddy’s ten-bedroom Holmby Hills house hit the market for $61 million in September.

He paid $40 million for it in 2014, but buyers think it’s way too pricey, especially now that Diddy is dealing with legal trouble.

A real-estate investor offered $30 million for it, but that’s far from the asking price.

Louis C.K.’s Historic Island Cottage

Louis C.K. tried to sell his six-bedroom, Tudor-style cottage on Shelter Island for $9.25 million this summer.

The house, built in 1901, has six fireplaces, a pool, and a charming kitchen.

However, the price dropped to $7.9 million in September, and then the listing was removed.

Rob Lowe’s Sleek Franklin Canyon Home

Rob Lowe listed his four-bedroom, open-concept house in early 2024 for $6.5 million.

The price was later cut to $5.9 million, but no buyers came forward.

Lowe relisted it for $5.5 million in December, hoping someone will want the home with its pool, putting course, and modern design.

Why It Matters
Even celebrities struggle to sell homes if the price isn’t right or the market isn’t in their favor.

These star-studded properties show that at the end of the day, the real estate market plays by its own rules!
