Millie Bobby Brown, the 20-year-old star of Stranger Things, has traded the high-energy world of Los Angeles for the serenity (and chaos) of a Georgia farm.
Millie Bobby Brown has a home in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and lives on a farm in Georgia with her fiancé Jake Bongiovi.
In an intimate interview with Vanity Fair, Brown revealed her decision to prioritize a life of privacy, animals, and authenticity with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi.
Brown’s career skyrocketed at 12 when she became a household name as Eleven in Netflix’s sci-fi hit.
But the fame and relentless attention led her to seek a haven far removed from Hollywood’s glitz.
The couple now resides on a sprawling farm tucked away behind rows of pine trees, where they share their lives with goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, and her therapy dog, Winnie.
Despite comparisons to the “tradwife” trend, which romanticizes traditional homemaking roles, Brown insists her choice isn’t about aesthetic conformity. “I’m not doing it for the aesthetic.
I’m doing it because I love it,” she explained. “If you’re not picking up horse poop or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you at all.”
Brown’s passion for animals goes beyond her own sanctuary.
Through her organization, Joey’s Friends, she rescues dogs from kill shelters and finds them homes.
She’s also taken online animal care courses at Purdue University and plans to observe surgeries as part of an externship.
While life on the farm is messy and unpredictable, Brown thrives in its vibrant chaos. “My animals are loud, and my dogs are crazy.
There’s laughter, passion, and excitement. It’s where I thrive.”
Her transition to rural life isn’t without its challenges. Brown shared that her fame has limited her ability to form friendships, and her non-traditional upbringing means navigating social situations can be tricky. But through it all, she’s found joy in her unconventional path.
And let’s not forget her romance with Bongiovi. The pair, who tied the knot in 2024, built their relationship on shared values and long-term goals.
“It always felt right with him,” Brown said, reflecting on their journey from dating rumors in 2021 to a glamorous Italian wedding last September.
For now, the Hollywood A-lister seems content to embrace her farm life in Georgia—chaos and all—while still holding onto her London mansion for a taste of city living.
What do you think of Millie Bobby Brown’s choice to step away from Hollywood? Would you trade city life for the chaos of the countryside?
