PORTLAND, Ore. A car crash in Northeast Portland left some residents without a home after a gas line was broken and a fire started on Christmas Eve.
The incident happened just before 11:15 p.m. near Northeast 24th and Weidler Street.
The driver lost control of the car and crashed into the front of the house, breaking a gas line.
This caused flames to shoot into the air, making it look like the whole house was on fire.
However, fire crews quickly found that the fire was only on one side of the house and didn’t cause too much damage.
They focused on stopping the gas leak, which took about an hour to control.
Firefighters rescued a pet from the home, and luckily, no one was injured.
But one person was forced to leave their home due to the fire.
