Rumors are swirling that billionaire Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald and a pick for Commerce secretary, has purchased Fox News host Bret Baier’s jaw-dropping Washington, D.C., mansion.
The stunning French château-style home, located at 2400 Foxhall Road, was listed last year for $31.9 million but had its price trimmed to $28.995 million earlier this year.
So, what makes this home so special? For starters, it’s a whopping 16,250 square feet of pure luxury.
It features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a home cinema, a spa, an indoor sports court, and a custom bar with a jaw-dropping wine display.
Outside, there’s a 56-foot heated pool, a golf putting green with sand traps, and a landscaped yard with 300 tons of limestone and hundreds of trees.
All of this is nestled on 1.47 acres with high-security gates, making it the perfect private retreat.
The Baier family, who had only recently finished building the mansion, decided to move on to a $37 million Palm Beach estate.
Amy Baier previously shared that the home was designed to offer a safe and private escape due to her husband’s public role.
While neither Lutnick’s team nor Sotheby’s broker Daniel Heider has confirmed the sale, sources suggest this deal could set a new record for D.C.’s real estate market.
If sold at the asking price, it would beat the city’s previous record of $24.56 million set in 2007.
High-end real estate activity often spikes with a new administration in town, and this could be another example.
Lutnick, worth $1.5 billion, is no stranger to luxury—he’s lived in a Trump Palace apartment with a butler and a massive townhouse in New York City.
For now, the details are under wraps, but one thing’s for sure: this mansion is fit for someone with a billionaire lifestyle.
